Bill & June Hamon

Bill & June Hamon

Today is Thursday and it’s a “Dilly”!  Firstly, I take our little white 9lb Poodle Davidson to the Groomer for his “Fall Do” at 10 a.m.  June’s setting-up to complete her stab at painting several American Avocet “stick-decoys” we need to take to the show.

The show is the Sauder Village Woodcarving Show in Archbold, OH. this is to be our 5th and Final visit there.  This is probably our favorite of the five shows we do each year.  Lots of reasons for that and we may touch on them more in the days to come. We do know that a huge reason is their Special Events Coordinator, Jan Nofziger. She’s great and will be missed. This is her last show too. She’s retiring as of Dec. 10th. Our reason for it being our last show is that we’ve decided to “cut-back” here and there by omitting the “overniters” from our show-list.  June’s quitting her employment at the end of this year and we’re trimming the sails, so to speak.   So, I’ll be packing our bird-Carving Exhibit and stowing it in the Nissan for our trip tomorrow.  I’ll also be going after Davidson and bringing him home to show him off to our Carvers at 3 p.m. today. We are still having our Thursday Carve-Ins thru Dec. 17th.  Carvers will be carving whatever they wish to carve, getting caught-up, getting-ahead; whatever!

Happy birding and carving,   Bill
